![]() | Varsity Scout Portal has been discontinued. In May 2017, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the LDS church, or Mormons) announced that in 2018 they would no longer be sponsoring Varsity Teams. Since the LDS church created the Varsity program in 1984 and were basically the only group using it, Varsity has since been discontinued. Medals/awards/patches will continue to be available to earn until they are no longer available in a local or national Scout shop. (See Discontinued awards.) |

Varsity Scouting is an active, exciting, year-round program for young men 14 through 17 built around five program fields of emphasis: advancement, high-adventure/sports, personal development, service, and special programs and events.
MeritBadge.Org is your online Scouting University with Varsity Resources, Letter, Letter Bar, Activity Pins, Denali Award, and Advancment.
- Varsity Scouts can also earn Boy Scout ranks from Scout through Eagle.
- Merit Badges cover over 120 different topics with printable Workbooks and Blue Cards.
- Additional Scout Awards challenge boys in dozens of other areas. Scouter Awards are for adults.
- The Team Program Features include 27 quarterly team programs that are tailored for Varsity Teams.
- Varsity Scouts Scouts can attend Summer Camp, Camporees, Philmont, National Jamborees, and more.
- Training is offered in areas as diverse as ecology, first aid, Knots, and Outdoor Skills.
A Varsity Scout Team is composed of one or more squads with youth team leaders, adult advisers, and is supported by an adult Team Committee.
The World Conservation Award provides an opportunity for individual Scouts to 'think globally' and 'act locally' to preserve and improve our environment. This program is designed to make youth members aware that all nations are closely related through natural resources and that we are interdependent with our world environment.
The design of the badge incorporates the panda logo of the World Wildlife Fund, which sponsors the Award on a worldwide basis with the fleur-de-lis, which is found on or as the basis for many nation's Scouting emblems. The World Conservation Award is earned by Scouts and Venturers in many other nations outside of the United States.
