Would like to see "About" page moved to the Main namespace....

Optimist, I'd like to move the About page (as well as all of the policy pages) to the Main namespace, which, I could do, easily enough. But, what I can't do is change the pointers down in the footer. Would you be be willing to consider this? --RWSmith 15:00, April 16, 2007 (EDT)

Well, I tried that; but, it didn't work. What I want to do is like this:
  • WP:Policy = Wikipedia:Policy
  • MB:Policy = MeritBadgeDotOrg:Policy

Please Use The Forums

The forums on have two sections devoted to this website. They are:

  • (The Wiki) - This section is open to the general public and can be used to discuss topics related to the needs of this web site.
  • Wiki Admin - This section is closed to the general public. It can only be accessed by Sysops. It is mostly for administrative concerns but can also be used to discuss topics related to the needs of this web site.

Using the forums instead of this page serves two purposes. First, there are many knowledgeable people who use those forums and their opinions are beneficial. Second, problems can be resolved quicker if all the sysops know about it; just telling me may result in a delay.


How would I volunteer to become a sysop? I would like to become more actively involved in the site, and that seems like a good way to do it.Epmatsw 20:09, June 19, 2007 (EDT)

Like most sites, sysops here are chosen based on their record: how beneficial their efforts have been to the site, how much they encourage others, and whether or not they obey the rules. Since this is a relitively new web site, the sysops were chosen based on their record in our forums ( ) which have been around for several years. Optimist 21:29, June 19, 2007 (EDT)

I would like to be observed for potential sysop status. I have spent a lot of time on Wikipedia's Scouting Wikiproject, but am finding myself less and less useful there as the articles have matured. My main wiki skills are in programming templates, categorization, etc. but I also have an extensive background in Scouting advancement, having served as District Advancement chairman. Wiki shortcut buttons

Optimist, I don't know if this is a limitation or on of the wikisetup we have and so not under our control... But it would be really, really nice to have a "redirect" button shortcut like they have at Wikipedia. I've been making a lot of shortcuts for spelling etc. and am tired of typing " #REDIRECT " and then the link when I know I could just be clicking a button. Sea Scouts rank requirements

Because I have noted that you have entered rank requirements for Apprentice and Ordinary rank... :)

I am at the end of how much Sea Scouting content I am confortable with entering. The noticeable gap left is the actual guts of the Able rank and Quartermaster Award requirements. I have the pages mostly prepared. If you happened to be willing and "able" to add this content that would be great.

Forums Down?

Hi, Are the Forums (phpbb) down? Was working early last night. Later I get a Banned from Forum message on anything that I try. Anyone else having problems or have any ideas? Wayne --WVBeaver05 14:05, April 26, 2008 (EDT)

(In Reply for Optimist) Wayne, Whenever you're getting a banned message (or other similar user-specific problems that you know you shouldn't be seeing), the first step is to clear your browser's temporary internet files cache and/or cookies. This will reset things on your end and, if the problem is on your end, this will fix the problem. If the problem is on the server's end, i.e., the server is down or the phpBB is corrupted, you'll still unable to login, but, not banned. —RWSmith (Bureaucrat), 20:31, April 26, 2008 (EDT) P.S.
