Position description
The troop guide works with new Scouts. He helps them feel comfortable and earn their First Class rank in their first year.

Reports to
Assistant Senior Patrol Leader
The Troop Guide is there to help new boys become part of the troop. He may be assigned to instructing Tenderfoot through First Class Skills.
Responsibilities
- Works with the patrol leader of new boys patrol.
- Guide new Scouts to becoming part of the troop
- Serves on the PLC
- Sets a good example
- Enthusiastically wears the uniform correctly
- Shows Scout spirit
- Qualifications:
- First Class
- Fulfills:
- Star - 5
- Life - 5
- Eagle – 4
- Palm – 3
- Recommended:
- Attending Junior Leader Training run by Troop
- Term:
- Until the next election, removal, or will to change
- Either six months or until a new troop guide can take his place, whichever is most prudent
- Notes:
Chair: Senior Patrol Leader
Members: Patrol Leaders, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader(s), and Troop Guides
Other Members May Include: Instructor(s), Quartermaster(s), Scribe, and other Positions of Responsibility
Advisors: Scoutmaster, Troop Committee Chair, Assistant Scoutmasters
