A Varsity Scout Team is the standard unit for Varsity Scouts and is composed of one or more squads, and are supported by an adult Team Committee.

Varsity teams are usually expected to meet weekly, and go on outings monthly. They also hold Courts of Honor at least once a year; usually quarterly.

Youth members

The team's youth are lead by the Team Captain and the Team Leadership

Youth members of a Team include:

• Team Captain
• Team Cocaptains
• Team Secretary
• Squad Leaders
• Program Managers
• Team members, some of whom may hold other positions:
  • Chaplain Aide, Librarian, Quartermaster, Instructor, Order of the Arrow Team Representative, Den Chief

Adult members

The team's adult Scouters are divided into two branches:

• Program
  • Varsity Coach
  • Assistant Varsity Coaches
• Support
  • Program Advisors
  • Team Committee, including:
    • Team Committee Chairman
    • Treasurer
    • Secretary
  • Chartered Organization Representative

The Team is a registered "unit" with its local council. Other basic units are:
