Position of responsibility for Eagle rank
There has been some confusion as to whether or not Webmaster is an accepted Position of Responsibility (POR) for the Eagle rank for Scouts in a troop, team or crew.
Even though the latest Eagle Scout Rank Application lists this POR under troop only, and not team or crew, we believe clarifications issued from National applies to Scouts in all three type of units toward Star, Life, and Eagle rank advancement. I have made these changes on the Webmaster article page and have asked for explicit, just-in-case clarification.
Please do not change (these aspects on) the article page until I receive word, one way or the other; instead, post your comments here on the talk page. Thanks, —RWSmith (Bureaucrat), 19:32, June 26, 2010 (EDT)
- VERIFIED: Per the 2010 Boy Scout Requirements Book (BSA No. 33216 / SKU-34795), the Webmaster and Leave No Trace Trainer positions are listed as eligible Positions of Responsibility for Eagle (Requirement 4, on pages 16 & 17), Star (Requirement 5 on page 14), and thus, by reference, for Life (Requirement 5 on page 15). This applies to all Star, Life, and Eagle candidates, be they registered in a troop, team, or crew (ship). Their lack of inclusion in other sources, as well as their incomplete reference on the Eagle Scout Rank Application (under troop, but not team or crew) are editing errors. (Many thanks to Paul S. Wolf at http://USScouts.Org for this clarification.) —RWSmith (Bureaucrat), 23:56, July 7, 2010 (EDT)
