21 words

Looks like 49 words to me, not counting the Pledge, the Oath, and the Law. Maybe the "21 words" comment should be removed. (I would just do it, but I don't know whether WP:BOLD applies here.) Jordan Brown 11:53, March 19, 2013 (EDT)

"retire"

FM 31-21.5, the US Army Drill and Ceremonies manual, in section 15-8, uses "retire" to refer to removing the flags from the front of the room at the conclusion of an event. That would seem to pretty authoritatively rule out reserving "retire" for taking flags out of service. Jordan Brown 00:17, June 7, 2013 (EDT)
