Usage agreements
Boy Scouts of America
The MeritBadge Networks (including, MeritBadgeDotOrg) has a blanket agreement with BSA to use their copyrighted materials, including images, "appropriately". Appropriately means within the scope of all of their restrictions, which are completely reasonable... as long as it's strictly:
- Scouting-related,
- non-commercial,
- educational, and
- serves the purpose to benefit Scouting...
...then we can use it (in accordance with those terms).
Full use of BSA materials
Any BSA-copyrighted materials that BSA publishes online (without purchase) for Scouting use, then we can also fully quote, reproduce, or publish that content here.
Partial use or non-permitted BSA materials
While we can quote from any BSA-copyrighted materials; we cannot, under any circumstances, (fully) reproduce or publish content that is only available for purchase through BSA... usually via ScoutStuff.Org.
Here are some examples:
- Merit Badge pamphlets
- Boy Scout Handbook
- Any other digital content -or- printed matter that is only available via purchase
US Scouting Service Project (USSSP)
We also have a reciprocating mutual use agreement with the USSSP (USScouts.Org), as long as we give credit whenever and where ever due.
- See also: {{AMB USSSP}} for credit template.
Miscellaneous
Wikipedia
While we certainly encourage the "use" Wikipedia, it is not appropriate to copy-&-paste their "article"-related content (e.g., Wikipedia's Scouting portal) to here — that is not the purpose of this website.
However, non-article related "stuff" is just fine. E.g., Userboxes, templates, et al.
