Every page of MeritBadge.Org is now available in dozens of languages! As of the last census, Spanish was the primarily language in over a thousand cities including Miami and San Antonio. French is the primary language in parts of in Maine, New Hampshire, and Louisiana. In other areas the primary language is Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, or Tagalog. New Mexico will be the first state to be primarily Spanish speaking followed by California, Texas, and Arizona.

Now a leader can print information for parents of different cultures. A Cubmaster could print Pinewood Derby information for the Spanish speaking parents. A Den Leader could print the requirements for the Citizenship Belt Loop for Vietnamese parents. A Scoutmaster could print the Camping Checklist in Tagalog for the Filipino parents.

That's thousands of pages of Scouting materials in 34 different languages! Currently the graphics will not be shown when the workbooks are translated but much of the page layout is preserved.

History

Since 2002, the BSA has offered 12 pages of materials in Spanish: http://www.scoutingvalelapena.org/. Five hanbooks were translated into Spanish: Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, and "Mini" Boy Scout Handbook as well as some fliers.

Right Now MeritBadge.Org offers a thousand pages of materials in dozens of languages!

Please let others in your unit and council know that we have new resources for the 500,000 Scouts and their families who don't speak English as their primary language.
