Instructions

Please email a link to this page to those who need help in another language. You can also change this page to their language and then print it as an invitation.

1. Go to http://meritbadge.org/. Click the "More languages" link on the left.

2. Click on the list below to choose your language to change everything on MeritBadge.Org to your language:

Details

Every page of MeritBadge.Org is now available in dozens of languages! As of the last census, Spanish was the primarily language in 70 counties including Miami-Dade. New Mexico will be the first state to be primarily Spanish speaking followed by California, Texas, and Arizona.

Now a leader can print information for parents of different cultures. A Cubmaster could print Pinewood Derby information for the Spanish speaking parents. A Den Leader could print the requirements for the Citizenship Belt Loop for Vietnamese parents. A Scoutmaster could print the Camping Checklist in Tagalog for the Filipino parents.

That's almost a thousand pages of worksheets in 34 different languages! Currently the graphics will not be shown when the workbooks are translated but much of the page layout is preserved.

History

In 2002, the BSA Scouting site in Spanish: http://www.scoutingvalelapena.org/. As of 2008, this site still has only 12 pages. In addition, 25 fliers and handbooks are now in Spanish but few have been added since 2006.

Right Now MeritBadge.Org offers a thousand pages of materials in dozens of languages!

Please let others in your unit and council know that we have new resources for the 500,000 Scouts and their families who don't speak English as their primary language.
