Introduction

Viewing the guide
The Guide to Advancement is available in the following formats:
- On-line reading — this version is divided into chapters and includes a search engine.
- Download for off-line reading
:the entire publication is presented in a single interface to facilitate print-out.
- A printed version is also available at your local Scout shop, or from ScoutStuff.org.
History and Updates
BSA periodically updates and clarifies advancement policies and procedures. In 2011, the "Guide To Advancement" replaced the Advancement Committee Policies & Procedures and became the official BSA source for advancement rules, policies and procedures. To reflect the replacement, the new GTA kept the same BSA document number previously held by the ACPP, BSA Supply No. 33088.
