Arbor Backing Knot
See The Ashley Book of Knots # 1841, p 309. Grog notes: "The Anchor Bend is also known as the Fisherman's Bend is an excellent knot to use for attaching an anchor line to an anchor." The Arbor Knot also attatches the line to the fishing reel Arbor.

Blood Loop

Clinch Knot
Grog notes: "The Clinch knot provides one good method of securing fishing line to a hook, lure, or swivel. The "improved" version used here includes an extra tuck under the final turn, shown at step 8. It is commonly used to fasten the leader to the fly. It is not recommended if you are using over 12lb test line." The Clinch knot is used to tie fishing line to a hook, lure, or swivel. Do not use with heavy line.

The Fisherman's knot is used to tie two fishing lines or ropes of equal size together. One benefit is that it makes a very small knot.

Improved Clinch Knot
The Improved Clinch Knot like the original Clinch Knot is used to tie fishing line to a hook, lure, or swivel. The Improved Cinch Knot has an extra tuck under the final turn. Do not use with heavy line.
