How to make a First Aid Kit.

1. Adhesive tape

2. Aluminum finger splints

3. Antibiotic ointment

4. Antiseptic solution or towelettes

5. Bandages, including a roll of elastic wrap (Ace, Coban, others) and bandage strips (Band-Aid, Curad, others) in assorted sizes

6. Instant cold packs

7. Cotton balls and cotton-tipped swabs

8. Disposable latex or synthetic gloves, at least two pair

9. Gauze pads and roller gauze in assorted sizes

10. Eye goggles

11. First-aid manual

12. Petroleum jelly or other lubricant

13. Plastic bags for the disposal of contaminated materials

14. Safety pins in assorted sizes

15. Save-A-Tooth storage device containing salt solution and a travel case

16. Scissors, tweezers, and a needle

17. Soap or instant hand sanitizer

18. Sterile eyewash, such as a saline solution

19. Thermometer

20. Triangular bandage

21. Turkey baster or other bulb suction device for flushing out wounds

Medications

22. Activated charcoal (use only if instructed by Poison Control Center)

23. Anti-diarrhea medication

24. Over-the-counter oral antihistamine (Benadryl, others)

25. Aspirin and non-aspirin pain relievers (never give aspirin to children)

26. Calamine lotion

27. Over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream

28. Personal medications

29. If prescribed by your doctor, drugs to treat an allergic attack, such as an auto-injector of epinephrine (EpiPen)

30. Syringe, medicine cup or spoon

Emergency items

1.Cell phone and recharger that utilizes the accessory plug in your car dash

2.Emergency phone numbers, including contact information for your family doctor and pediatrician, local emergency services, emergency road service providers and the regional Poison Control Center

3.Small, waterproof flashlight and extra batteries

4.Candles and matches for cold climates

5.Sunscreen

6.Mylar emergency blanket
