Cub Scouts is a year-round family- and home-centered program that develops ethical decision-making skills for boys in the first through fifth grade (or who are 7, 8, 9, and 10 years old).
- Tiger Scouts are first graders who with their adult partners learn about leadership, community, and family.
- Wolf Scouts and Bear Scout (second and third graders, respectively) emphasize character development, citizenship, and personal fitness.
- Webelos Scouts are fourth and fifth graders who participate in the more advanced Webelos Program to prepare for Boy Scouts.
Fast Tracks help leaders plan each den meeting. MeritBadge.Org is your online Scouting University with topics ranging from Recruiting and the Den Leader Getting Started Guide to Training, Pinewood Derby, and Day Camp.
Recognition awards are available to Cub Scout leaders who complete training, tenure, and performance requirements. These awards are presented by the local council. All of the awards require the completion of Fast Start Training, Basic Leader Training for the position, Youth Protection training, and participation in roundtables or a pow wow or University of Scouting. Some require additional supplemental training. One or two years of registered service in the appropriate position is a requirement for each award, and tenure used for one award may not be used for another.
