The Business merit badge was one of the original 57 merit badges issued by the Boy Scouts of America in 1911.

Business is a discontinued merit badge. Business Merit Badge was one of the original merit badges in 1911. It replaced Clerk in 1911, but was later discontinued in 1966, being replaced by American Business.

Merit badge requirements

1. Write a satisfactory business, and a personal letter.
2. State fundamental principles of buying and selling.
3. Know simple bookkeeping.
4. Keep a complete and actual account of personal receipts and expenditures for six months.
5. State how much money would need to be invested at 5 per cent. to earn his weekly allowance of spending money for a year.
