This is the Artist activity badge for Webelos Scouts.
Cub Scouts and Webelos Scouts can also earn the Cub Scout Art belt loop and pin.
Boy Scouts can earn the Art merit badge.
Venturers can earn the Arts and Hobbies Bronze Award.
The Webelos Artist activity badge helps prepare Webelos Scouts for the Boy Scout Art and Graphic Arts merit badge(s).
The Webelos Artist activity badge options include earning the Art Belt Loop.

Activity Badge

The Webelos Artist Activity Badge is one of 20 different Activity Badges that can be earned in the Webelos Scout Program. The requirements are typically worked on during den meetings or den activities while the skills are practiced at home, with the help of the Webelos Scout's family. The requirements are either completed with the den or at home with the den leader's approval. Projects are brought to meetings to share with the den and for Webelos Den Leader or Activity Badge Counselor approval.

Artist requirements

Do these:
  1. Talk to an artist in your area or to your art teacher about the different occupations in the art field. Make a list of them.
  2. Create a scrapbook (portfolio) of your Artist activity badge projects and show it to your den leader.

And do five of these:

  1. Draw or paint an original picture out-of-doors, using the art materials you prefer. Frame the picture for your room or home.
  2. List the primary and secondary colors. Explain what happens when you combine colors.
  3. Using a computer, make six original designs using straight lines, curved lines, or both.
  4. Draw a profile of a member of your family.
  5. Use clay to sculpt a simple object.
  6. Make a mobile, using your choice of materials.
  7. Make an art construction, using your choice of materials.
  8. Create a collage that expresses something about you.
  9. While you are a Webelos Scout, earn the Cub Scout Academics belt loop for Art.
